Naramata Lakeside Guesthouse
There is so much beauty around us, even in the winter months. It is interesting how the colour of the lake changes depending on the weather. On sunny days, the lake can be a dark Hudson's Bay blue. On windy days, its like a Monet painting, with light, convex looking waves. If the water is black, it could mean snow is coming. On still days, the lake is a mirror reflecting the white clay cliffs that surround it. We watch storms from the north end of the lake as they roll down to us in Naramata. Growing up on a grain farm, weather was very important, and one of the main topics of conversation. Here in this agricultural community of fruit growers, it is just as important. We walked home last night under a clear sky full of millions of stars. It is still so beautiful to me. I hope this stunning photo of the lake, taken by our daughter, encourages you to appreciate nature today.
That's my view from the deck.
